I FINALLY tried a CycleBar class for the first time and let me tell you, it did not disappoint!
As a fitness enthusiast, I'm no stranger to spin classes. I've been to a bunch of different studios and fitness boutiques who offer this type of class, but this was really something special.
Every single employee I spoke with gave me their time while really listening to my questions and offering to help however they could. The instructor went around the room introducing herself and offered to answer questions as students prepped for the class. That one-on-one time can make all the difference! Throughout the class she was enthusiastic, gave helpful cues and genuinely wanted to see everyone succeed and HAVE FUN.
The studio was spotless, and I mean SPOTLESS. The facility smelled clean without being overpowering, the equipment wasn't sticky and everything was organized and put away nicely. That's how you can tell people care about where they work - when they respect their space and take care of every minor detail down to the towels. It's the accumulation of minor details that make the experience THAT much better. The only thing missing were some feminine products.
The intervals are perfectly spaced out to challenge you without totally wiping you out. They also feature an "upper body" portion of class using a weighted bar, which I loved! Their CycleTheatre holds 55 state-of-the-art custom bikes featuring two flat-screen TVs and personal data monitors. Their audio, video and lighting technology creates an environment that allows you to feel comfortable and powerful all at the same time. I left sweaty, sore and inspired to take on the rest of the day!
The music was loud, but not deafening like some places can be. The playlist was killer and a great mix of older, recognizable songs and new jams. The beats were fun to peddle to, easy to pick out and before I knew it I found myself getting lost in the rhythm!
In my opinion, your fitness experiences should benefit you in all ways, physically, mentally and emotionally. You should leave the studio feeling better than when you walked in and CycleBar did just that! Overall I give it an 8.5.
